A starting price is helpful. Knowing what it covers, and what could change it, makes a comparison much more useful.

What does a cremation cost?

There is no single price for every cremation arrangement in NSW. The type of farewell, the location and timing of a transfer, and any additional services can change the total. For Timeless families, our Direct Cremation Essential package is advertised from $2,595 AUD; the Premium option is advertised from $3,195 AUD. These are our advertised starting prices, not a statewide average or a quote for every situation.

Read the complete package inclusions and exclusions, with itemised fees in the downloadable PDF before comparing prices. Your written quote will confirm the arrangements and total for your family.

Compare the same kind of farewell

A direct cremation takes place without an attended ceremony. An attended funeral includes a gathering and may involve a chapel or church, a celebrant or clergy, and additional service arrangements. A separate memorial after a direct cremation is another choice, with its own costs if you ask us to arrange it.

Begin by deciding which options you want quoted. Our comparison of direct cremation and an attended funeral explains the practical differences without asking you to decide everything at once.

What could change the amount?

  • Transfer arrangements: tell us where your loved one is, including the exact suburb and care setting. The advertised Essential package includes weekday transfer; weekend and public holiday transfers attract an additional fee.
  • A viewing or attendance: dressing, a private viewing and witnessing the cremation are separate arrangements, not standard Direct Cremation inclusions.
  • A gathering: ask about the venue, time allowed, celebrant or clergy and any additional chapel time.
  • Personal choices: flowers, service booklets, an urn or other keepsakes may be optional extras. Check what is already included before adding anything.

A written-quote checklist

Ask for the selected package, each optional item, any third-party charges and the final amount to be shown clearly. Check whether GST is included, what circumstances could change the quote, and when payment is due. A starting price and a complete written quote answer different questions.

If two quotes look different, compare the transfer conditions, attendance, included service time, documentation, care and return of ashes. You can ask someone you trust to read them with you. There is no need to add a service simply because it appears in a comparison.

Begin with your location and wishes

We assist families across Sydney, the Central Coast and Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Tell us the location of your loved one and whether you are considering a private cremation or a ceremony. We can then explain which costs apply.

For independent guidance, see the NSW Government’s funeral-cost information. For Timeless’s own services, use our current package details and obtain a written quote.
